Maru is a small iOS app made by one person — Anthony Le, in Eskilstuna, Sweden. If something's broken, confusing, or you just have an idea, email me directly. A real human reads every message.

Common questions

How do I add a bill or a spend?

On the Home tab, tap + to log a spend. To add a recurring bill, go to Setup → Bills → Add. You can also log a spend from the Home Screen widget or by saying "Hey Siri, log expense in Maru."

Can I link my bank account?

Not in this version. Maru is manual on purpose — typing each charge is what makes you notice your spending. Most bills are predictable, and the widget puts logging two taps away.

My data isn't syncing between devices.

Maru syncs through your private iCloud. Make sure both devices are signed into the same Apple ID and that iCloud Drive is on. Sync happens in the background and can take a moment after you make a change.

How do I delete all my data?

Go to Setup → "Erase all data." You can also sign out of iCloud or delete the app to remove everything from your devices. Maru stores nothing on any server, so there's nothing for the developer to delete.

Is there an Android version?

No, and none is planned. Maru is a small native iOS app made by one Apple-only developer.
